Rhodis Light( Book #1)

Cover: The cover is OK. Color play is attractive. Artwork is good too.

Dylan and her twin Devin are left homeless when their parents die in a car accident. Dylan blames herself for distracting them, and suffers from mental problems due to her grief. They are adopted as students by a group called the Rhodi, who claim to be the protector of their people.
Dylan and her brother train to become one of the Rhodi’s.
Meanwhile, she is struggling with her grief and trying to use and master her craft, an ability that every rhodi has.
The crafts include turning into an animal, flying, running at high speed and manipulating emotions, and more.
Rachel, the leader of the Hunters Guild is bent on destroying the Rhodi’s.
Will Dylan and Devin along with their masters, be able to thwart her advances or will Dylan have to lose her new family?

My Opinion:

This is an amazing story.
All the elements of a YA that make this genre a fantastic read are incorporated in the story. However , there is more.
The protagonist is dealing with mental health problems. Throwing light on these matters through fiction, Rhodi’s Saga deviates a bit from the norm, not in a bad way though.
However, there are a few cons. At the beginning, the writing is amateurish: too much detailing, repetition of a few points, and the fact that everyone is able to estimate the exact age of the  kids without even asking.
Dylan’s character sometimes went overboard with expressing her emotions.
But overall this book makes for an entertaining read.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Synopsis Book 1:

Flight. Hyperspeed. Clairvoyance.

These are some of the powers gifted to the Rhodi, an ancient sect of assassins who defend Crescentia, a dystopian world with a dying hope.

Dyliana Fairsson is one of them. After losing her parents to a suspicious accident, she and her twin brother, Devin, join the Rhodi to avoid starvation. Under the direction of her master, Dylan struggles to learn the strength of her magic …as well as hide the growing scars on her wrists. Can Dylan become the warrior, the hero, she’s destined to be? Or is she fated to fall from the light into the darkness?

The first installment in the epic fantasy series by bestselling author Megan Linski, Rhodi’s Light is an action-packed thrill ride that will leave readers begging for more.

Rhodi Rising( Book #2)

Lovely colors.

Rhodi Rising is the sequel to the Rhodi Saga.

Dylan and Devin, twins with powers are warriors and belong to a group called Rhodi.

They have returned from their uncle’s house after being ambushed, to find that their masters are missing.

So, with the help of two spies, Enfys and her sister, the twins set out to find their masters. The search is on, but it seems that their masters are no where to be found.

Dylan and Devin make a deal with Saffron, who discloses the location of the ancient Rhodi weapons. These weapons are supposed to help bring the Hunters downfall.

Dylan also finds herself as being the center of enfys attentions.

Will she be able to find and rescue her beloved teachers? Will they successfully obtain the weapons??

My Opinion:

I liked this book better than the first book, at least in term of execution of the plot.

The story seemed well developed and thankfully did not feel lacking like the first one, in terms of pacing: it was fast enough and there are enough plot twists to keep you entertained.

The focus is solely on the teens as the adults are mostly in captivity throughout the book.

Synopsis book 2:

Forced into hiding.

Desperate to find their masters.

In the past few months since the attack on their home, twin assassins Dylan and Devin have grown restless. With the Rhodi facing extinction, they search for their masters Talidin and Tavana, only to discover they’ve gone missing. With nowhere to turn, the twins seek help from a pair of mysterious spies, only to find the trail gone cold, marked by hints of torture and destruction.

Dylan and Devin piece together the events that led to the disappearance of their fellow Rhodi. As their enemies close in for the kill, Dylan discovers that some things are impossible for a Rhodi…but not for a tigress.

The stakes and romance are heightened in this epic dystopian sequel to Rhodi’s Light. Bestselling author Megan Linski brings readers a young adult fantasy with magic, mystery, and an epic adventure that races quickly to a breathless conclusion.

Rhodis Lullaby( Book #3)

Best cover of the series with the best color pallette.

Dylan and devin along with their masters are hiding. But when their house gets ambushed, the group is forced to go deep in the dessert to search for the message on the ancient letter.

But what they discover is beyond their imaginations.

Dylan’s nemisis Saffron gets in  new terms  with her.
The trek through dessert is eye opening. Betrayals, deaths and deeper connections, its a journey of surprises.

But, Dylan and Devin have to become mature and their respective relationships are taking a toll on the siblings. They blame each other and are unhappy with each other.
At the end of their journey, Dylan and her friends discover an unexpected sanctuary. A lot of changes ensue. Enfys and Dylan are driving farther apart and April’s prophecy is taking a toll on Dylan.

Red Queen is persistent and taking advantage of the Rhodis absence, she has practically taken over the world.

Will the Rhodi be able to rise again, will they put their differences aside to fight for the ultimate peace.

My Opinion:

The final battle was awesomely depicted.
The most beautiful thing was the increasing friendship of Dylan and Saffron, although I was a bit disappointed when Saffron didn’t get to play a major role in the final showdown.
Devin was less likable because of his disregard and lack of interest towards her sister.

Tristan had a bit confusing part. He trains to be a Rhodi and has the rhodi weapon, so his character should have recieved a bit more spotlight .

But still, overall it was a satisfying end to the series.

Synopsis book 3:

Cities burn.
Governments fall.
Lives are lost in a desperate war…one the Rhodi are losing.

The world has been devastated by the tyranny of the Red Huntress. To save Crescentia, Dylan and Devin attempt to decipher the mystery of the ancient letter their ancestors left behind, the only hope of salvation for their kind. Dylan continues to fight foes both on the battlefield and within her own mind, all while wrestling with the confused feelings she has for Enfys, the alluring spy who has become devoted to her cause.

In the epic conclusion to the thrilling Rhodi Saga, one brave warrior will stand in the way of corruption, to take place before her destiny…or her death.

Rhodi’s Lullaby is the third installment in the suspenseful young adult dystopian series fans and critics are calling an original masterpiece in the epic fantasy genre.

Recommended For: Dystopia fans. This series is entertaining and has all the elements of a good YA book.

I recieved free ARCs of these books from the publisher inexchange of providing an honest review.
